General Steps
- Check the stability of the bottom note being tuned. (Steps 1 and 2 below)
- Play the top note of a pure interval in the P19 or P22 set.
- Play the interval.
- Play the tests. (Except for P12)
- Pure intervals to be tested: 8:6 P4 (P22 set), 6:3 P8 (P19 set), P11 (P22 set), P12 (No test), P19 (P19 set), P22 (P22 set).
E3 Example:
- Play the note (E3) three times loud.
- Play the note. Let it sustain. (E3)
- Play the note a P4 above. (A3)
- Play the P4. (E3-A3)
- Play the 8:6 tests, m6/m3. (E3-C4 and A3-C4)
- Play the note a P8 above. (E4)
- Play the P8. (E3-E4)
- Play the 6:3 tests. (E3-G3 and G3-E4)
