Unit 8 – Tuning F#3 and A#3 – Small Scale

Here are the steps you need to do, to submit your F#3 and A#3 for marking.

All notes must be open unisons, no mutes, unless strings have been eliminated.

  1. Tune F#3 and A#3 using small scale procedure.

    Start the recording.
  2. Say “My piano has a small scale inharmonicity”.
  3. Play F#3 and A#3 individually, softly, 3 seconds each.
  4. Play F#3 and A#3, 3 times very loud.
  5. Then play again, F#3 and A#3 individually, softly, 3 seconds each.
  6. Now play F3, F#3, A3, A#3, C#4, D4, F4, and A4 individually, softly, 3 seconds each.
  7. Play A3-C#4, F#3-A3, and C#4-F4.
  8. Play C#4-F4, A#3-C#4, and F4-A4.
  9. Play F3-A3, F#3-A#3, and F3-D4.
  10. Play A3-C#4, A#3-D4, and F#3-A3.
