Unit 16 – F5 to B5

V.14

General Procedure:

  1. Play the top note
  2. Play the top note 3x’s very loud
  3. Play the top note again 3 seconds
  4. Play the M3/M10/M6/M17
  5. Play the bottom octave (the one that was tested by the M3/M10)
  6. Play the P12
  7. Play the top octave
  8. Play the 4:2 test for the top octave

Tuning F5 example:

  1. Play F5 for ~3 seconds
  2. Play F5 3x’s very loud
  3. Play F5 for ~3 seconds
  4. Play C#3-F3, C#3-F4, C#3-A#3, C#3-F5
  5. Play F3-F4
  6. Play A#3-F5
  7. Play F4-F5
  8. Play C#4-F4, C#4-F5.

You will be marked on the purity of the unisons (F5), the purity of the lower octave, (F3-F4), plus the purity of the P12, (A#3-F5), and the purity of the top octave (F4-F5).
